About UKIP

The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP for short) is the British libertarian party. We believe in national democracy, localism, civil liberties, and the British government serving the interests of the British people.

We are not really right wing or left wing: that is an outmoded political notion. We are localists who believe in bringing back power from the undemocratic supranational government of the EU and advancing and preserving British democracy.

Contrary to what our opponents may have told you, UKIP is not a racist party! Never has been - never will be. Everyone who is here legally can stay. We recently elected a female leader, have two members of the Greater London Authority, one of whom is gay and the other black, and have black and Asian councillors and candidates up and down the country. We do not condone discrimination of any kind, positive or negative, and believe that advancement should be based on merit, opportunity and enterprise alone, whilst at the same time caring for the poor. We must in fact be the most diverse and inclusive party in the country!

Yet we do understand that communities self-segregate because people do feel more secure and comfortable with their own kind. This is as true for the various ethnic groups that make up the Black and Asian communities as it is for the indigenous population. Nobody likes to feel culturally displaced. Integration will take place naturally over the generations, but that process will be delayed if the first generation is constantly increasing.

We are aware that segregation can lead to hatred and intolerance, and we strongly condemn such crimes and attitudes. We say best way to guard against them, other than illegality, is to remove the economic pressures which lead to the rise of right-wing extremism. These pressures have increased enormously in recent years due to globalisation, unbalanced trade and uncontrolled immigration. UKIP stands as a bulwark for moderate, practical and balanced policies against the rise of such parties.

Our policy is therefore for balanced trade and balanced migration - no more in than out - which, given the large number who leave each year, leaves plenty of scope for admitting to citizenship those with a particular contribution to make on a points-priority basis irrespective of race, colour, religion or ethic background. We are relatively relaxed about temporary residence. These policies are only available through Brexit.

Our members come from all across the political spectrum, united by the common cause of getting Britain out of the European Union. By definition we are a centre party committed to restoring Britain’s independence and sovereignty. The old main parties continue locked into their outmoded and irrelevant class warfare (discrimination), doing as little as possible and just trying to keep the other side out. Britain desperately needs a new centre party with a positive approach to solving the problems we face. UKIP is that party.

By leaving the EU we can reduce the income gap and reduce the regional unemployment gap. We can eliminate the trade deficit, set up a Sovereign Wealth Fund and restore economic growth and decent public services, whilst finding new ways of paying for them. Squeeze the top - stimulate the bottom!

We firmly believe UKIP has a future beyond Brexit at the centre of British politics. Indeed, apart from fixing the economy, jobs, immigration, housing and public services, our next big job is likely to be Constitutional Reform. UKIP stands for the People against Vested Interests, including that of Parliament itself, Big Business, and ideologies such as Socialism which can so easily lead to fanaticism and dictatorship. UKIP is growing, and growing fast. Please help us to build a more democratic, a more equal and a more prosperous future together.
